Sugarbear was more than our beloved white West Highland Terrier, she was family, our inspiration, and the heart behind everything we dreamed of creating.
Long before our kennel opened its doors, we chose to name our business Sugarbear's Sweet Retreat in honor of the unconditional love, gentleness, and joy she brought into our lives every day. She had a sweet spirit that touched everyone she met and reminded us of the comfort, trust, and happiness that every dog deserves.
Our hearts were broken when we lost our precious Sugarbear the day after Christmas in 2023, just two weeks before we opened our doors in January 2024. She was 15 years old and had given us a lifetime of unwavering love and unforgettable memories.
Although she never had the chance to see the dream become a reality, her legacy lives on in every wagging tail, every happy bark, every cozy stay, and every dog that walks through our doors. We strive to care for each guest with the same love, patience, and kindness that Sugarbear gave so freely throughout her life.
Sugarbear's Sweet Retreat is more than a dog boarding kennel, it is a tribute to one very special little Westie whose love continues to inspire us every single day.
